Virtual Nurse Consultation

The Virtual Nurse Consultation is the first-line clinical support pathway. It is designed to provide you with professional healthcare guidance, basic triage, health education, and referral to a doctor where required. 
 
Online or virtual consultations are useful and includes:
Review of the user’s wellness concern or reported symptoms
Basic clinical triage
Health education and self-care guidance
Recommendation for referral where clinically appropriate
A virtual consultation is useful for day-today medical concerns and problems like flu, allergies, stomach upset and other minor ailments.
Prescriptions, referral letters and sick notes
Medical advice: Explanation of medical terms or Lab results,
Treatment of minor ailments and / or chronic diseases
You should go to a hospital if you are bleeding, have an emergency or have been involved in an accident.
 
How to Contact Virtual Nurse 
User clicks: ”Connect with a healthcare professional” in the IVC Health app
The consultation is conducted by video call.
The nurse reviews the user’s concern and any relevant available information.
The nurse provides guidance within the scope of practice.
If required, the user is referred to a virtual doctor, dietician, psychologist, or for in-person care at a pharmacy clinic.
 
Limitations and exclusions:
No emergency care is provided through this service.
The nurse does not replace an in-person clinical examination where one is required.
The VirtualCare nurse may give advice and suggest self-help products, which can be bought without the need for a prescription.
A Diagnosis, prescribing, and specialist treatment fall outside the nurse consultation scope.
